Former Irish International and Walker Cup player, Gareth Mc Gimpsey from Bangor finished 3rd in the British Seniors' Open Championship at Walton Heath.
There was a runaway winner when Paul Simson from America hit scores of 70,69,69 to finish on 8 under par and win by 5 shots from fellow American Chip Lutz who scored 72,71,70 to finish on 3 under par.
Mc Gimpsey was the top home player and was one of only 3 players to break par. He scored 70,72 and 73 to finish on 1 under par 215.
Tom Cleary from Cork was joint 5th on 4 over par, while Hugh Smyth from Mourne was well back in 51st place on +15 along with Arthur Pierce.
