England retained the Home Internationals at Ashburnham Golf Club in Wales when they won all three matches against Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
England got off to a great start with an 11-4 win over Ireland. Dara Lernihan and Pat Murray were Ireland's only foursomes winners leaving them 4-1 down going into the singles. England proceeded to win the first 5 singles, before wins from Kevin Phelan, Connor Doran and Luke Lennox made the score more respectable. Scotland came out winners in a tight game with the hosts Wales beating them 8-7.
Day two saw Ireland at their best beating Wales by 8.5-6.5, while England looked to be heading for another easy victory against Scotland. Scotland gave them a fright when they won 4 1/2 of the remaining 5 games leaving England winners by a single point 8-7.
The final was another bad day for Ireland as they were easily beaten by Scotland 10 - 5. The only singles winners were Paul Cutler, Eddie Mc Cormack and Pat Murray while Paul Dunne got a 1/2 match.
England were taking no chances as they romped home 11- 4 winners over Wales to retain the Raymond Trophy with the full 3 points. Ireland, Wales and Scotland all finished with 1 point.
