Lee Slattery got the perfect start in the SAS MASTERS at BARSEBACK GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB in MALMO SWEDEN.He birdied the first 4 holes for an outward run of 30 shots-6.After an hours weather delay he covered the back nine in level par for a 2 shot lead after the first round.The golf course is the longest in European tour history covering 7,665 yards,and a par of 73.
The 6 Irish competing are all in good shape to make the half way cut,with the best being Gary Murphy on -2,71.Murphy had 4 birdies and 2 bogies for a share of 12th place.Michael Hoey and Gareth Maybin sit in 20th spot on -1,70.
Damien McGrane,Peter Lawrie and Johnny Caldwell are all level on par 73s.
