59 year old Tom Watson is only 18 holes away from making history in the 138th OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP at TURNBERRY.He shot a 71 yesterday to take a 1 shot lead into the final round and if he can hang on,he will become the oldest winner and equal Harry Vardons record of 6 OPEN TITLES.
It is going to be a great day of golf,as anyone of 26 golfers, between -4 and +2 can still win, especially if the wind blows.
Ross Fisher only one behind could have a great day as well.He is playing fantastic golf and with his wife Jo overdue it could be a great double.
Graeme McDowell 71 and Paul McGinley 70 are the best of the Irish on +2 and still in with an outside chance if they can make early birdies.McIlroy finished with 3 birdies for a 74 after a terrible start.Defending champion Padraig Harrington still hasn't found that "Perfect Swing" he keeps looking for and is out of the running after a 76 leaves him on +9.
