Poulter wins his first World Title.

Ian Poulter defeated Paul Casey 4 and 2 in the first ever all-European World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship final.

An extraordinary week for The European Tour - which provided all four semi-finalists and seven of the last eight - ended with Poulter, dressed all in pink, achieving a brilliant maiden victory on US soil.

Poulter takes home the Walter Hagen trophy for his win at Dove Mountain, which is appropriate given both men's notorious attention to detail when it comes to what to wear on the course.

"He was very snappy," quipped Poulter. "Are you saying I'm a snappy dresser?"

Poulter moved hotel rooms at the start of the week due to noise, but had become paranoid when the new room number ended in 13. After taking the biggest prize of his career the 34 year old admitted his concern had been misplaced.

"I kind of like Number 13," he added. "I was very concerned, I should say, more concerned than what most people would think. I was very much thinking about moving rooms again, but I guess it worked."

Casey, who broke his duck across the Atlantic at last season's Houston Open, was defeated in the 36-hole final a year after going down 4 and 3 to Australian Geoff Ogilvy.

The pair were competing not just for the title and a difference in prize money of around €400,000 - the winner's cheque was €1,019,635 and the runner-up received € 619,064- but also the World Number Five spot.

Camilo Villegas finished in 3rd place with a 5/4 win over an out of form Sergio Garcia.

It was a bad week for the Irish.Padraig Harrington went down 3/1 to Jeev Milka Singh in the first round and Graeme McDowell lost to Luke Donald on the 17th in the same round.

Rory McIlroy who came from 4 down after 6 holes to beat Kevin Na on the final green in the first round, lost his game in the second round to lose to Oliver Wilson on the 20th hole.McIlroy could only register one birdie in 20 holes.

24 year old Andrew Dodt wins in India.

A birdie at the last saw Andrew Dodt claim the Avantha Masters in Delhi by a stroke after the Australian posted a final round of 68 to lift the trophy with a winning total of 14 under par.

With seven players entering the last day level at the top of the leaderboard, it always promised to be a thrilling and exciting day at DLF Golf and Country Club, and so it proved.

The lead changed hands several times with Richard Finch's spectacular six under 66 at one point looking to have secured an unexpected triumph for the Englishman.

However, Dodt sank birdies at the 16th and 18th to claim his maiden European Tour victory ahead of Finch and Richard Bland, who carded a 71 to end on 12 under and miss out on his maiden European Tour title.

Dodt, whose previous best finish was a tie for ninth at last year's Barclays Singapore Open, began the day one shot off the pace but had picked up three strokes by the turn and was well placed with nine holes to play.

A bogey at the 11th threatened to derail the 24 year old's bid but he managed to recover over the final three holes to secure the trophy a cheque for 250,000 Euros and membership to the European tour until the end of 2012.

Finch, meanwhile, mounted his charge from down the leaderboard as the Hull golfer reached the halfway point in 32 having collected five birdies and one bogey.

But he could only pick up two more shots down the stretch to eventually finish 13 under to claim 2nd place on his own and a cheque for 166,000 Euros.

Darren Clarke had another great week and is showing signs of coming back to his best in time for the Ryder Cup.A final round of 71 left him in a share of 8th on -10 and a pay day of 29,775 Euros.

Gareth Maybin took 77 in the last round to tumble down to 44th place on -2 and win 7,500 Euros.
Shane Lowry was 7 under after 36 holes, before a horrible weekend of 77/75 left him in a share of 59th on +1 and a cheque for 4,200 Euros.

Gary Murphy withdrew from the rain delayed 2nd round as he was well outside the -1 cut mark.

Jimenez pips Westwood in Play off to win Dubai Classic !

Miguel Angel Jiménez beat Lee Westwood at the third play-off hole to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic following a thrilling see-saw final day at Emirates Golf Club.

European Number One Westwood birdied the last hole in regulation to card a final round level par 72 to join Jiménez at 11 under par.

Spaniard Jiménez, who began the day holding a one shot lead alongside Westwood, Alvaro Quiros and Thongchai Jaidee, missed a ten foot birdie chance at the 72nd hole to card his own final round of 72.

Westwood missed championship-winning putts at the first two extra holes, while on both occasions Jiménez had to fight to stay in contention - with a 12 foot par putt the second time around keeping his title hopes alive.

After switching to the par four ninth after two trips up the 18th, Jiménez holed out from four feet to claim his 19th professional title and first since the 2008 BMW PGA Championship, after Westwood had missed his six foot par putt.

Defending champion 20 year old Rory McIlroy had a frustrating day.Starting the last round 2 shots behind the leaders,he missed a lot of birdie chances before making bogies at the 7th & 9th to turn on 2 over par.Birdies at the 10th & 13th got him back in contention but late bogies at the 15th & 17th left him well behind.A final hole birdie gave him a round of 73 and a share of 6th place with Alvero Quires on 8 under par and 3 shots behind the winner.

Gareth Maybin 72 and Graeme McDowell 75 finished in a share of 20th on 3 under par.Darren Clarke 73 was 27th on -2,while Damien McGrane was glad to win a cheque after 2 missed cuts in a row.He shot a final round 72 for a share of 44th place on +1 and won a cheque for 9,428 Euros.

Michael Hoey and Peter Lawrie missed the cut by 1 shot when they were both +2 for 36 holes.Shane Lowry was out of sorts to miss the cut by 3 shots on +5.
