Ben Mason leads Challenge event in Holland.

England's Ben Mason finished with an eagle 2 at the par 4,16th hole and a birdie at the 18th to lead the DUTCH FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIP at HOUTRAK GOLF CLUB in HOLLAND with a 5 under par 67 after the first round.

The only Irishman with a chance of making the top 20 to gain a card for the main tour next year is Colm Moriarty. He is lying in 56th position and put himself in a good position with an opening round of 70 -2 for a share of 28th place along with Gareth Shaw who is well down the rankings in 97th place.
Michael McGeady (185th) needs a miracle and it won't happen here as he took 74 +2 for a share of 95th and Johnny Caldwell(110th) who got his card at Qualifying school last year at the first attempt, will have to go again this year after taking a 75+3 and a share of 107th place.
