Last week South African James Kingston was outside a safe card position for next year in 116th position.Today he is in 46th position with a place in Dubai at the end of the season and a 2 year exemption on the European Tour all thanks to a great play off win in the MERCEDES-BENZ CHAMPIONSHIP and a cheque for 320,000 Euros.
48 year old Kingston beat Anders Hansen at the first play off hole with a par after they both finished the 72 holes in 13 under par.
Darren Clarke(72) and Graeme McDowell(70) picked up 28,200 Euros for a share of 15th on -6.On a normal week,Gareth Maybin would have missed the cut,but as it was a limited field of 78 there was no cut.He was +5 after 2 rounds but had a brilliant weekend with rounds of 67,68 to finish on -4 and a share of 23rd worth 19,000 Euros.
