(2nd) Pro - Am win No5 for Damien Mooney.

Belfast man Damien Mooney added the Irish PGA Westmanstown Pro - Am to the other four he won this year and has moved up to 3rd on the Race to Dubai league table.

Mooney had a slow start to the season. He didn't win his first one until the Nairn & Portnoo Pro - Am at the end of June. Further wins quickly followed at Balbriggan, Curragh, Fota Island and now Westmanstown.

To win, Mooney needed a 2 under par round of 69 to beat Darren McWilliams by a single shot. Order of merit leader David Higgins was in the frame again, sharing 3rd place on level par with Peter Martin, John Dwyer, Ian Kerr and Brendan McDermott.

It was a good tournament for David Hughes from Massereene golf club in Antrim. Not only did Hughes bring home the winning team with 86 points, he also shot a 72 for a share of 8th place that earned him enough points to jump from 32nd place on the Race to Mount Juliet table into the final ( 30th ) spot to book his place in the grand final.
