Final push for a place in the "Race to Mount Juliet."

With only a couple of tournaments to go before the final Lexus "Race to Mount Juliet" in association with Ping, play-offs between PGA Professionals, there is a scramble to make it into the top 30.

David Higgins who has led from early in the season was overtaken at the top by new Irish PGA Champion, David Mortimer, but that only lasted a week. Higgins hit straight back with a 5 under par total of 138 to share 1st place with Damien Mooney in the Fota Island Pro-Am and jump straight back into pole position.

The top 30 on the order of merit will qualify for the Mount Juliet event which will carry a €30,000 purse.To add more interest there is another €17,500 which will go to the top 3 on the final table.The winner will get €10,000,runner up €5,000 and 3rd will take home a bonus of €2,500.

The winner will gain an invite to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in 2011.

The top 3 qualify for the Srixon Play offs which offer the winner a couple of invites to the main tour.

The top 8 qualify for the 2011 Irish Open.

Holding 30th and final position at the moment is Wayne O'Callaghan ( Wayneocallaghangolf.com ). He is only 16 points ahead of John Dolan ( Dunfanaghy ) and 59 points ahead of David Hughes ( Massereene ). It will be all to play for in the remaining tournaments.
