20 year old Rory McIlroy covered St.Andrews famous links in 65 shots to share the lead at the halfway mark of the DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP with fellow Ulsterman Michael Hoey who had a fantastic day at Carnoustie when he shot a 66 and local boy Richie Ramsay who had a 66 at St.Andrews.
All 3 are on 11 under par with McIlroy and Ramsay to play the easier Kingsbarns tomorrow while Hoey has to face St.Andrews and with the wind to reach gale force it will be a great test for Hoey.
Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley are in good position on 8 under par.Graeme McDowell and Gareth Maybin -5 and Padraig Harrington is on the cut mark of -4.
