Dyson wins KLM Open in play off with lawrie & Hedblom.

Simon Dyson won the KLM DUTCH OPEN in 2006 with a 20 foot birdie putt on the first play off hole and now 4 years on he has his name on the trophy once again on the same KENNEMER course with a 20 foot putt for victory over Peter Lawrie and Peter Hedblom on that same play off hole once again.
It was a great win for Dyson who equalled the course record of 63 to reach the play off, which came at -15.
Overnight leader Hedblom was having a bad day and was +1 after 14 holes but got his putter going to make birdie 2s at the 15th & 17th to also finish -15.
Irishman Lawrie had the title in one hand but took an iron of the tee at the 16th for safety and finished up lucky to make a bogey 5.
It was still a good week for Lawrie who picked up 156,340 Euros that took him up 18 places to 40th in the race to Dubai table.
Damien McGrane was 66th in the race to Dubai starting the week.He managed a great 64 in the final round to miss the play off by one shot on -14.He recieved 90,000 Euros for his effort and is now inside the all important top 60 in 55th place.
Defending champion,Darren Clarke put up a good show, finishing joint 5th with Jamie Donaldson on -13. His cheque for 69,660 Euros lifted him from 95th in the table to 76th.That will give him some encouragement for the coming weeks.
Shane Lowry played a great back nine for a 68 to add to his 66,68,71,that left him in 15th place on -7 and earned him 23,062 Euros.Shane is starting to make good inroads on the tour since his magical Irish Open win as an amateur. He is now 184th in the table and has earned 70,777 Euros.
Gareth Maybin is still learning his trade in his first year on tour.He finished -5 and in a tie for 26th with Paul McGinley. Paul was the first round leader with a brilliant 64 but couldn't find a putt over the last 3 rounds. They recieved cheques for 16,020 Euros each.Maybin is 54th in the table while McGinley is well down in 124th.
