MCELHINNEY BLOWN AWAY OVER FIVE LAKES.

Brian McElhinney was blown away during the final round of the Europro event at FIVE LAKES GOLF CLUB in ESSEX.Starting the day one shot behind the leader Paul Reed, McElhinney fell foul of the strong wind and took 77 shots to complete his round as did the leader Paul Reed. They were both overtaken by Sean Whiffin who managed to play a level par round 71 to win the £10,000 first prize and the only one to finish under par.
Whiffin finished with a 3 under par total and a 4 shot win from Paul Reed +1.
The only person to break par on the day was Paul Dwyer. Paul shot a one under par 70 to come from 32nd into a share of 3rd with McElhinney on +2.The move lifted Dwyer into 5th place on the order of merit table, which leaves him exempt from Pre Qualifying first stage.
Barrie Trainor, playing with Dwyer got a great start when he went to -2 after five holes and back to +1 for the tournament. He couldn't fight the wind over the next 13 holes and dropped 6 shots to finish 24th on +7 for the week.
