HARRINGTON IN GOOD SHAPE IN THE BARCLAYS.

Padraig Harrington was the butt of jokes from his friends after his last two US tournaments saw him in water and taking 8 on both occassions. When he got home to Ireland he got a voice message on his phone. It was the theme tune from "jaws" and while checking his golf bag found a "Ball retriever".

He took the jokes in good faith and in the first of the FedEx play off's,The Barclays he is in a good position after hitting a bogey free 4 under par 67.It only took Padraig 25 putts, never found water, and is only 2 shots behind the leaders.

Sergio Garcia,Paul Goydos and Steve Marino all returned 65s to lead on 6 under par,one ahead of a group of 4 on -5.

The two favorities,Tiger Woods and Phil Mickleson are back in 27th place along with a group of 15 players on one under par 70.
