DAVID MORTIMER WINS DUNDRUM PRO AM.

Former Irish PGA Champion David Mortimer made it a hat trick of victories when he won the 36 hole Dundrum House Pro Am in Tipperary. He had already won the Castlewarden Pro Am and was joint winner of the one day sprint event at Lisburn along with Barrie Trainor.

In fact it was Barrie Trainor who led after a first round with a one under par 71 in trying conditions but when he faded in the second round to a 77,Mortimer came through to claim the first prize with scores of 72/71(-1).He was the only one in the field to finish under par, such was the difficulty of the conditions.

This win leaves Mortimer in second place on the"Race To Mount Juliet"table behind David Higgins.Higgins, along with Mark Staunton and Jimmy Bolger, were joint 2nd on level par 144.
