LEINSTER WIN BOYS INTER-PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

LEINSTER won the Boys Inter-Provincial Championship at Ballinrobe Golf Club for the third time in four years.
It was a solid performance by Leinster as they beat Munster 6.5/3.5,Connacht 6-4 and a half match against Ulster,5-5.

Ulster beat Connacht 6.5-1.5 in the opening game but were disappointed when they lost to Munster 6-4.They needed to beat Leinster to win the title.

The morning foursomes were halved with 1.5 points each.Ulster got the best start to the singles matches when they had wins from Matthew McKnight,Dermot McElroy and Chris Selfridge, with the only defeat coming when Leinster's Ulster Boys' Champion, Jack Hume defeated Cormac Sharvin 3/2.

The title seemed to be going North when Ryan McKinstry got a vital half point to leave Ulster 2 points clear with only 2 games left on the course. When Adam Brown lost to Conor Glynn, all attention turned to Portrush lad Jamie Richardson. He was 1 up on Adam Hanley playing the 17th.Hanley won the 17th with a par and the tide turned for Ulster when Hanley holed a 30 foot putt on the final green to win his game 1 up,giving Leinster a vital half match against Ulster to clinch the title.
