MATTHEW EVANS WINS EUROPRO EVENT IN BRISTOL.

MATTHEW Evans(23) from Rotherham has claimed his first PGA EuroPro Tour victory after edging out Martin Sell in a two hole play-off to win the World Snooker Golf Tournament.This took place at The Players Club,in Bristol.

The golfers had to endure three days of strong winds and rain.As a result it was only the winner,Evans and Martin Sell,who finished under par.They returned one under par totals of 209.

Eight Irish players made the journey to Bristol.With the exception of the Curragh's Paul O Hanlon,they all missed the 36 hole cut.O Hanlon returned scores of 74,72 to make the +8 cut by two shots.The weather conditions for the final round didn't get any better and he finished 14 over par after a 78.He was well down in 44th place and won £222.

Neil O Briain,Mark Campbell and Brendan Mc Carroll missed out on the final round as they were +10.Tim Rice +14,Michael Lavelle +15,Noel Fox +16 and David Rawluk +21 were well off the +8 cut mark.
