McIlroy's early exit from Players Championship.

No longer a teenager,Rory McIlroy in the week of his 20th birthday, left the USA for a rare weekend off after missing the cut in The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass,Florida.
2 under par after the first 16 holes,he fell into the water at the famous 17th island green to take a 6 and following a bogey at the last signed for a 2 over par 74.It was always going to be a battle to make the cut of level par,and unfortunately Rory just couldn't get going. He only made 2 birdies all day,as well as 5 bogies and a double bogey at the 9th for a 77.
His 7 over par 151 was 7 too many, and left Padraig Harrington as the sole Irish man in the field.Padraig played steady for his second round of 72.
Alex Cejha is the surprise leader on -11.(66,67)Ian Poulter is lying 2nd on 9 under after rounds of 67,68.Tiger still has them in view after a 69 leaves him on -4.
