DAVID HIGGINS FINAL BIRDIE BLITZ WINS QUINN DIRECT PRO AM.

Ex European Tour Professional,David Higgins,birdied the final 5 holes at the Slieve Russell course in County Cavan to win the Quinn Direct Pro Am on 12 under par after two rounds of 66.
Higgins who led after an opening 66 had a late start from the 10th tee for the second round.By that stage European Tour player Damien Mc Grane had finished his second round and was sitting in the clubhouse in a comfortable position on 9 under par after a bogey free round of 67 to go with his opening 68.

Starting his round on the back nine Higgins lost shots at the 17th and 2nd holes to wipe out two of the 3 birdies that he made earlier.With 5 holes to play David was 2 shots behind Mc Grane and looking like a runner up spot.He managed to birdie all 5 holes for his second 66 and a victory by 3 shots.He collected the €10,000 winning prize and now sits proudly on top of the Irish PGA Lexus Race To Mount Juliet order of merit.

Damien Mc Grane was the runner up with steady rounds of 68 & 67 giving him a 9 under par total.There was a 3 shot gap to Seamus Mc Monagle 69,69,Neil Manchip 70,68 and Darren Mc Williams 71,67 all 6 under par.

Killymoon Professional Gary Chambers took his own team of 3 amateurs from Killymoon and they won themselves a holiday in Portugal later in the year after winning the Pro Am with 188 points.
