ULSTER LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP:CLANDEBOYE.

16 year old Lisburn girl Paula Grant made a clean sweep at Clandeboye when she won the leading qualifing prize after rounds of 76 and 78 in wet conditions and then went on to beat Tara Gribben in a one sided final.

Paula only had to go past the 16th green in one of her four matches.That was against Malone's Louise Coffey in the semi final.Big hitting Louise kept the game alive with an eagle two at the 351 yard 17th hole,but Paula held her nerve to win on the 18th.

19 year old Tara Gribben(Warrenpoint) a daughter of Walker cup player Paddy was in great form all week.She was second best qualifier,one stroke behind Paula and knocked out the holder Victoria Bradshaw in the quarter finals,but when it came to the final she had no answer to the great golf from Paula.

Grant got off to a fast start against Gribben in the final and by the time they reached the 9th she was already 5 up with birdies at the 7th & 8th holes.Tara hit back with a win at the 12th,but had to admit defeat to a par by Paula on the 13th green.
