There will be a lot of interest in the Irish PGA order of merit this year with the introduction of a season ending tournament called "The Lexus race to Mount Juliet"in association with Ping and to be played on the 16th & 17th October.

The top 30 on the order of merit will qualify for the Mount Juliet event which will carry a €30,000 purse. To add more interest there is another €17,500 which will go to the top 3 on the final table. The winner will get €10,000,runner up €5,000 and 3rd will take home a bonus of €2,500.

The winner will gain an invite to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in 2011.

The top 3 qualify for the Srixon Play off's which offers the winner a couple of invites to the main tour.

The top 8 qualify for the 2011 Irish Open.

The Mount Juliet course will be a great venue for such an event, having hosted 3 Irish Opens in the mid 1990s.It provided three top winners in Faldo,Langer and Torrance. At the American Express World Championships in 2002 Tiger Woods won and in 2004 Ernie Els took home the title over the same Mount Juliet course.
