Warrenpoint's Eddie Barr gained his PGA qualification at Warrenpoint golf club under Head professional Nigel Shaw before emigrating to Austrailia.
Eddie has made his mark on the local Queensland Pro Am circuit winning the order of merit last year.He has got off to a great start again this year by winning the Minerva Mines Emerald Pro Am with a 9 under par total after rounds of 66,65.
He also has a 3rd place finish in the Blackwater Pro Am on 7 under par,and a 4th, 5th twice,6th and a 10th finish in his other 6 outings.
After 7 competitions Eddie is in 4th place on the order of merit,behind the leader Samual C Brazel who has won the last 4 Pro Am's in a row.
