20 year old Rory McIlroy has made gaint leaps over the last 2 years since turning Professional.He chased Lee Westwood (16 years his senior) all the way in the Race to Dubai,coming up short to fantastic golf by Lee.His 3rd place finish in the tournament left him order of merit runner up and a jump into No10 in the World Rankings.Sergio Garcia was also 20 when he reached the top 10 and it's worth noting that Tiger Woods was 21 before he made the top 10.
Rory was able to bank 3,610,020 Euros this year and he can now look forward to joining the PGA American tour next year as world No10.Padraig Harrington finished in 15th place in the order of merit but is ahead of Rory in the World rankings.He has finished the year in 6th place.
Gareth Maybin came through the qualifying school last year and after some great golf finished the year in 53rd place with 625,876 Euros and 124th in the World.
