Ross Fisher wins World Matchplay.

Ross Fisher takes a giant step in World golf when he moved up to 17th in the World rankings and 4th in the Race to Dubai after a great display of golf to win the Volvo World Matchplay in Malaga.
Fisher was in great form all weekend and had to play 126 holes to lift the trophy and a winning cheque for 750,000 Euros.
In the group stage he beat Camilo Villegas by 2 holes and Jeev Milkha Singh by 1 hole.He lost by 2 holes to Lee Westwood but was the top point scorer in the group.

In the semi final he had to go to the 39th hole to beat Masters champion Angel Cabrera with a fantastic 3 wood into the final green.

The final against Anthony Kim came down to a putting competition,such was the standard of golf.Fisher holed some great putts and ran out a 4/3 winner when he was 10 under par after the 33 holes played.24 year old Kim went home with a cheque for 450,000 Euros.
Robert Allenby had a hole in one in the 3rd/4th place play off against Cabrera and went on to win with an eagle at the 19th.
