Rory McIlroy well ahead of Westwood in Hong Kong.

20 year old Rory McIlroy looks like he will be in top spot heading into the final tournament of the year in Dubai to confirm the 2009 champion of Europe. He shot a 65 in the 3rd round of the UBS HONG KONG OPEN to sit in 3rd place on 11 under par and a 6 shot lead over the current No1 Lee Westwood who had a 3rd round of 69.Only 50,000 Euros behind Westwood,McIlroy will take the No1 position going into next weeks final play off's if the gap remains the same tomorrow night.

French man Gregory Bourdy had a 7 birdie round of 63 to take a 2 shot lead over Robert Jan Derksen who had a 65.Bourdy(87th) and Derksen(78th) are outside the top 60 who qualify for the Race to Dubai next week, but that could all change if they hold on to their positions tomorrow evening.Bourdy is 16 under par and Derksen is -14.

Peter Lawrie is in joint 4th place after a 66 left him on 10 under par and level with Miguel Angel Jiminez who shot a 63 and the holder Wan-Tang Lin 67 who beat McIlroy in a play off last year and Francesco Molinari 66.
Graeme McDowell is in for a high finish as he is on 9 under par after a 66,and Darren Clarke is still in with a chance of reaching the top 15 or 20,000 Euros as he shot another 67 to finish on 7 under.
