Ireland still 3 clear at halfway stage in World Cup.

Ireland took 10 shots more in the foursomes 2nd round of the OMEGA MISSION HILLS WORLD CUP in CHINA but still hold a 3 shot lead heading into the weekend from holders SWEDEN.

McIlroy and McDowell could have opened up a 6 shot lead as they took a bogey 6 at the 11th and a double bogey 7 at the 15th.They hit back to birdie the 16th & 17th for a 68 that leaves them 18 under par after their amazing opening round of 58.

Keeping a close eye on them will be the holders ROBERT KARLSSON & HENRIK STENSON for SWEDEN who haven't dropped a shot to par over the first 36 holes.Their rounds of 64 &65 leave them 2nd 1 shot clear of ITALY 64 & 66 who have the MOLINARI brothers playing.

Argentina who opened with a 61 fell back into a share of 11th after a poor 75 to leave them on -8.
