Westwood champion of Europe for a 2nd time.

Lee Westwood became the Race to Dubai champion in fantastic fashion when he closed with a course record 64 around the Earth course to win 830,675 Euros as Dubai world champion and a 1 Million bonus as European No 1.
Lying second to 20 year old Rory McIlroy coming into the event,Westwood who was champion back in 2000 said,i want to concentrate on winning this tournament and everything else will look after itself. He was right,he shot scores of 66,69,66 and 64 to finish on 23 under par and win by 6 clear shots from Ross McGowan and 8 shots from Rory McIlroy.

Westwood gave nobody a chance when he shot 5 birdies on the front nine and another 3 coming back.McGowan made a charge on the back nine with 5 birdies in a row from the 12th to the 16th but even that didn't rattle Westwood.
Rory couldn't manage a birdie over the first 8 holes, but went on a great run with 6 birdies over the next 9 holes and even though he dropped a shot at the 18th his 67 allowed him to finish in 3rd and 1 shot ahead of Padraig Harrington and Geoff Ogilvy.
