(1ST)IRELAND WIN BOYS' HOME INTERNATIONALS.

The Irish Boys won the Home Internationals at Southerness Golf Club in Dumfries with wins over the Scottish team on day one with a 12-3 winning margin. They could only manage a draw on 7.5 points each against England on day two, but they made no mistakes on the final day against Wales. They beat them by 10.5 - 4.5 to win the series with 2.5 points. Scotland recovered after their big defeat to Ireland on the opening day to win their final two games and finish second with 2 points.England were 3rd and Wales collected the wooden spoon in last place.

Dermot Mc Elroy and Gary Hurley were Ireland's top performers with 5.5 pts. They were undefeated with 5 wins and a drawn game each. Paul Dunne only lost one game from six ( 5 pts.). Colm O Sullivan had (4.5 pts)and Chris Selfridge,Jack Hume & Alex Gleeson all had 4pts. Jeff Hopkins ( 3.5pts ), Stephen Barry ( 3pts ), Matthew Mc Knight( 2pts ) and Liam Harnett( 1pt ) made up the victorious team.

Ireland were pleased to win the trophy back. Their last win was at Royal County Down in 2008.
