(18)Matthew Evans secures Challenge Tour card for 2011.

Matthew Evans (Rotherham ) won the Skycaddie European Championship at Hever Castle Golf Club in Kent and has guaranteed himself a Challenge Tour card for next season. His first prize of £10,000 lifted him into 2nd place on the order of merit and only £1,000 behind the leader Daniel Guant. This was Matthew's 2nd win this year as he earlier won at the Players Club in Bristol.

Matthew started with a level par 72 then hit a 67 to sit 2 shots behind the leader Justin Evans ( No relation )going into the final round. Matthew won the title with a final round of 67 ( -10 ) to pip Justin 70 ( -9 ) by a single shot. Last week's winner Zane Scotland was 3rd, another shot further back on -8.

Brendan Mc Carroll got himself into contention during the last round when he was 5 under par after 10 holes and 7 under par in total. He lost shots at the 13th & 15th for a final round of 69. With his earlier scores of 72 and 70 he claimed a share of 7th on 5 under par and won £916. Mc Carroll is up to 20th on the order of merit.

Challenge Tour player Gareth Shaw from Lurgan had a terrible start taking 78 in the first round. He bounced back with a 68 that included 8 birdies to make the cut on +2. He then followed up with a 69 to finish in a share of 21st on 1 under par 215. He was joined on that score by Brian Mc Elhinney 71,72,72. They both took home £360.

David Rawluk from The Island was the only other Irish qualifier. He made the cut on the +2 mark but took 75 to finish well down in 51st place to win £182.
