Lisburn Golf Club won the Ulster section of the Pierce Purcell when they had to go to extra time to beat last years All Ireland winners Letterkenny.The only other time Lisburn were Ulster Champions in the Pierce Purcell was away back in 1984.
They beat Cliftonville 3-2,Carrickfergus 3-2 and Castleblaney 3-2 on the way to the final. Letterkenny looked like they could be champions again when they beat Cloverhill 3-2,Warrenpoint 4-1 and Donaghadee 4-1 to reach the final, but it was Lisburn who held their nerve to collect the Ulster pennant at the first tie-hole to book their place in the All Ireland Finals at Castlebar Golf Club from 15th-18th September.
