Martin Kaymer beats Westwood in play off !

German,Martin Kaymer beat Lee Westwood in a one hole play off with a par in the OPEN de FRANCE over the brilliant and future Ryder cup venue LE GOLF NATIONAL near PARIS.

Over night leader Rafa Echenique got a rough lesson as he was chasing the leaders down the stretch.By attacking too much he took 7s at both the 15th and 18th holes to drop down the field to -5 after taking a 77.At one stage he was looking at going home with 666,660 Euros,instead he had to settle for 55,500 Euros.
Kaymer played good golf for a 68 and has now jumped to 5th in the race to Dubai with a cheque for 666,660 Euros,while Lee Westwood who hasn't won since the British Masters in 2007 has moved into 10th after winning a cheque for 444,440 Euros.

It was a good day for the Irish. Gareth Maybin was -2 on each nine and it earned him a share of 10th and a pay day worth 55,550 Euros.Damien McGrane shot 68 to finish on -5 for 55,500 Euros.Peter Lawrie made 4 birdies in a row from the 10th,his 67 finish won him 44,600 Euros for 21st spot.Darren Clarke took an 8 at the last for a 72,to finish on -2 and in a share of 31st place worth 16,800 Euros.
Shane Lowry collected his first pay cheque as a Professional.He finished in a share of 50th place on +1 after a final round of 73. He will be lodging a cheque for 16,800 Euros.
