14 year old Irish twin golfers make history again..

Slieve Russell golf club members were in celebration with the news that their 14 year old members Leona and Lisa Maguire were picked for the Vagliano Cup Great Britian and Irish team that play their biennial match against Europe on July 24th & 25th July.
Making history is nothing new for these very talented 14 year old twins.

Leona is the current Scottish strokeplay champion and French under 21 champion.
Last week she became the youngest player to qualify for the British Ladies Amateur Championship,going on to reach the quarter finals.

Lisa,is the current Irish Ladies champion, a title won by Leona as a 13 year old beating Lisa in the 2008 final. Lisa is also the Irish girls champion.

They will be joined on the team by Kilkeel's Danielle Mc Veigh who is the Welsh Ladies champion and former World University champion in 2007.

All 3 girls will warm up in the AIB Ladies Irish Open at Portmarnock Links from 26th-28th July.
