Tiger Woods played one of the best rounds of his life to come from behind and win The Memorial Tournament,hosted by Jack Nicklaus in Dublin,Ohio for a record 4 times.
Tiger silenced his skeptics(and there were many.)by hitting every fairway in the final round for a fantastic round of -7,65 to pip Jim Furyk by one shot.
During the whole tournament Tiger only missed 5 fairways in total.His best hitting since the 2000 Masters.He let the leaders know early that he was on the prowl.He birdied the 2nd,4th,5th and 7th,gave one back at the 8th,and after missing 2 easy chances for birdies at 9&10,he played a unbelieveable cut up chip from behind the 11th green for eagle that sent the crowd wild.He birdied the 15th but gave it straight back at the next,when he failed to get up and down from a bunker.
He saved the best for last.A high 9 iron into 12 feet at the 17th got him into the lead on his own for the first time,but it was his 7 iron from 183 yards to 9 inches from the cup for victory that will be long remembered.
Tiger has now recorded 67 PGA Tour wins under his belt....................
