Barnes & Glover in for a sleepless night.....

28 year old Ricky Barnes and Lucas Glover are in for a sleepless night as they lead the US Open at Bethpage by 5 shots with 17 long holes to go.On the longest day of the year, the golf was delayed until mid day, because of more heavy rain.
When play got under way,Ricky Barnes looked like he was going to run away with the title when he started par, birdie, par, eagle to go to -11.At this stage he held a 6 shot lead.(He is only the 4th player to reach double digit under par figures in a US Open,Gil Morgan 1992,Tiger 2000 & Jim Furyk 2003.)
On the back nine his driving let him down and with his playing partner Lucas Glover making some birdies of his own,Barnes managed to finish only one clear of Glover as they headed for the 1st Tee to start their last round.
After a bad drive Barnes dropped a shot and as play was called off for the day, himself and Glover hold a 5 shot lead overnight.
What will keep them awake is, in the chasing group on -2 is local favorite Phil Mickleson,Ross Fisher,Hunter Mahan and one time World No1 David Duval.Mike Weir is the only other one under par.
Tiger Woods was 15 shots behind at one time, and now sits on level par after 7 holes with the gap down to 7.The same score as Graeme Mc Dowell.
Rory McIlroy is through 10 holes of his final round. With 2 birdies to get back to +2,he is in a good position for a top 10 finish.
