14 year old twin Lisa Maguire is having a wounderful year, as she added the Irish Ladies Open title to the Irish Ladies Close title she won a few weeks ago.
Playing at Portmarnock Links she hit scores of 66,73,75 and was surprised to find that she would have to go to tie holes,as Englands Hannah Burke made up 8 shots on her with a closing 67.
Undeterred,Lisa matched Hannah shot for shot until the 7th tie hole,where she rolled in a tricky birdie putt to lift the title.
Ireland were leading the team event until the last round when Scotland and Austrailia beat them.Lisa,her twin Leona and Niamh Kitching had to settle for 3rd.
The twins along with Kilkeel's Danielle Mc Veigh will be back in action this week again when they take part in the AIB Ladies Irish Open.I'm sure the girls will give the Professionals a run for their money......
